Davide Astori was an Italian footballer who played as a central defender. Astori started his career in 2006 from Milan. He then transferred to Cagliari. Roma acquired him on loan in the 2014-2015 season. The following year he became a player of Fiorentina and soon the captain of the team.<\/p>\n
He played in 14 matches for the Italian national team, scoring one goal, while he also had 4 participations with the national team U18.<\/p>\n
On March 4, 2018, Davide Astori died of a heart attack while sleeping in a hotel with Fiorentina. The news of his death filled Florence and all of Italy with grief.
