Francesco Totti's great career ended in May 2017. From 1993 to 2017, Totti played only for Roma for his entire career without wearing the jersey of any other team. The highlight of his career, apart from winning the World Cup for Italy in 2006, was the Serie A winning with Roma in 2001. In 2007 and 2008 he lifted the Italian Cup with Roma and in 2001 and 2007 he won the Italian Super Cup.

In the game against Genoa, on May 28, 2017, Totti wore the Roma jersey for the last time, before "screaming his shoes". Roma won 3-2 with a goal by Perotti in 93' and took the 2^th place in Serie A and the direct qualification in the groups of the Champions League. At the age of 41, Totti ended his career with teammates, fans and his family saying goodbye to him in a very emotional celebration after the game.

This jersey was worn in the 2017-2018 season. However, it was worn for the first time in the last match of the 2016-2017 season. In the game against Genoa, there was a logo on left sleeve and it was on the shirts of the whole team, making this shirt extremely collectible. The logo wrote "una squadra per la vita", meaning "a team for life". After the ceremony, Totti symbolically handed the captain's armband to the leader of the smaller group of Roma academies.
