The Netherlands participated in Euro 2000 as one of the favorites as in addition to having a very talented team it was co-organizer with Belgium. In the first round, the Netherlands defeated the Czech Republic 1-0, Denmark 3-0 and France 3-2 and finished at the top of Group D.

In the quarterfinals, the Netherlands was impressive and "dissolved" Yugoslavia 6-1. Oranje faced Italy in the semifinals against at the Amsterdam Arena. After 90 minutes of regular time and 30 minutes of extra time the game ended 0-0. In the penalties, the Italians were more accurate and after F. de Boer, Stam and Bosvelt missed for the Netherlands, Italy qualified 3-1.

Italy then lost in the final to France as the French won the trophy with Trezeguet's "golden goal" in overtime. Patrick Kluivert played in the Euro 2000 as a player of Barcelona (1998-2004) and was together with Yugoslavia Savo Milosevic the top scorers of the tournament with 5 goals. This jersey is the same as the one he wore in the semifinal with Italy. There are Euro patches on the sleeves while match details are used that indicate the opponents and the date of the match.
