In the 2016-2017 season, Pamvohaikos made one of its best courses in the Greek championship. The team from Vrachati that was promoted to the Volley League for the first time in the summer of 2011 had played in the finals of the Volley League in 2012-2013. Having a very strong squad, led by the middle-blocker Panagiotis Pelekoudas, Pamvohaikos finished in 4^th place in the league, behind Olympiakos, PAOK and Panathinaikos.

In the playoffs, Pamvohaikos eliminated Kifissia with two victories (3-0 and 2-3). In the semifinals, against Olympiakos, the red and whites were better and with three victories, all with 3-0, they eliminated Pamvohaikos.

Panagiotis Pelekoudas was one of the leaders of the team both in the 2016-2017 season and the previous one. He was the captain and played in almost all the games, having a decisive role in the course of Pamvohaikos.
