Monaco 2016-2017 Home Jersey (Champions League Version)
Season: 2016-2017
Player: Radamel Falcao
Tournament: UEFA Champions League
Manufacturer: Nike
Monaco had an excellent roster in the 2016-2017 season. Coached by Leonardo Jardim, the Monegasques won the French championship and reached one step before the Champions League final.
In Ligue 1, Monaco was impressive and finished first with a difference of 8 points from Paris Saint-Germain. In the Champions League, Monaco initially eliminated Manchester City in the round of 16 despite losing 5-3 in the first leg. Then, defeated Borussia Dortmund twice and thus reached the semifinals. Juventus, however, was much better and with victories in Turin and Monaco left out the team of Jardim. The impressive Kylian Mbappé stood out from Monaco throughout the season, who caught everyone's eye and two years later he left for the sake of PSG.
The characteristic of this European jersey is that apart from the patches of the Champions League, the back of the shirt is all white in contrast to the version of the French championship which was half red and half white. According to UEFA regulations, jerseys must have distinct numbers and names on a monochrome background. Falcao, apart from being the leader of that team, was one of the top scorers of the season with 5 goals in the Champions League and 21 goals in Ligue 1.

One of the greatest football memories that I have is that matchup with Man City and the chip goal! I’ve been looking everywhere for a replica of this jersey to purchase and commemorate those matches, but I can’t find one anywhere. The all-white back and UCL lettering are impossible to track down. Any idea of the club ever retailed this version?
