After a very good season in the Second National League, Panserraikos was again in the First National League in the 1989-1990 season. The Lions managed a run that kept them in the division with Vladimir Tamborski on the bench.

Panserraikos managed to finish in 12^th place in the standings having achieved some very good results. The 2-0 win over Panathinaikos and the 1-1 draws against Olympiakos and 0-0 with PAOK leave a positive impression of the season. Panserraikos was defeated only once at home, by AEK, while they achieved 9 wins and 7 draws in Serres.

Diadora dressed Panserraikos that season. This jersey is one of the most distinctive ones worn by the team. The same design, with minor variations and a different sponsor, was worn in other years but the PROPO sponsor was used primarily in 1989-1990. At that time players did not have a fixed number and as a result the number 6 has been passed by various footballers during the season.
