Astori Davide

Davide Astori was an Italian footballer who played as a central defender. Astori started his career in 2006 from Milan. He then transferred to Cagliari. Roma acquired him on loan in the 2014-2015 season. The following year he became a player of Fiorentina and soon the captain of the team.

He played in 14 matches for the Italian national team, scoring one goal, while he also had 4 participations with the national team U18.

On March 4, 2018, Davide Astori died of a heart attack while sleeping in a hotel with Fiorentina. The news of his death filled Florence and all of Italy with grief. In his honor, Cagliari and Fiorentina withdrew the jersey with the number 13, which he was wearing.
