In the summer of 2011 the Greek women's national team competed in the CEV European League. Greece, based in the "Filippos Amoridis" arena of Xanthi, played in a very difficult group with rivals Serbia, France and Spain.
In 12 games, Greece had one victory, 3-2 against Spain, and 11 defeats resulting in finishing 4th with 2 points. First was Serbia, 35 points and later winner of the tournament, second France with 21 and third Spain with 14.
Athina Papafotiou was the main setter of the national team in this tournament. This jersey was one of the three used by the team, with one light blue and one white. Papafotiou was one of the athletes who stood out in this bad course of the team.
