Ethnikos Alexandroupolis, coached by Thanasis Moustakidis, failed to overtake the 2016-2017 season. Having a remarkable roster, finished in 7^th place in regular season, qualified for the playoffs. There, Ethnikos Alexandroupolis faced PAOK in the quarterfinals. With two victories, 3-0 and 1-3, PAOK got the qualification and left out the team of Evros.
