In May 2016, the team of Aris, which in the 2015-2016 season played in the third division, finishing first, organized a charity game at its stadium. Rival team was the Team of Love which consisted of various players, active or veterans, whether former Aris players or not. Proceeds from the match were donated to the Down Syndrome Association of Greece while the players' shirts were auctioned for the same purpose. In the competitive part for the story, the Mixed Love, prevailed with 5-4 on Aris.

Dimitris Salpigidis opened the scoring in the 20th minute after an assist by Nikos Anastopoulos. Ten minutes later, in the 30th, Vellios scored 0-2, to triple (0-3) his team's goals in the 38th. Aris reduced to 1-3 with Tato in 42΄, a score that ended in the first half.

It took a few minutes in the second half for the players of Team of Love to score again, with Nazlidis in the 56th minute making it 4-1. The "answer" of Aris at 69 'with Antonis Kapnidis scoring with a header and reducing to 4-2.
