Match Version

The World Cup was held in the summer of 1962 in Chile with 16 teams participating. The winner of the previous tournament, Brazil, was the big favorite with the world's top player Pelé on its roster.

Brazil beat Mexico 2-0 in the first game, drew 0-0 with Czechoslovakia and defeated Spain 2-1 in the third game. Thus, the team of Aymore Moreira finished in first place in the group but lost its big star, Pelé, after leaving the game against Czechoslovakia injured and could not play again in the rest of the tournament.

In the quarter-finals, England could not stop Brazil and lost 3-1 with Garrincha playing an impressive game scoring twice. In the semi-final against Chile, Garrincha was again excellent and scored two goals again and with the final 4-2, Brazil reached the final.

In the final of the Estadio Nacional in Santiago in front of 68,679 fans, Brazil and Czechoslovakia claimed the trophy, a few days after their match in the group stage. The Czechoslovaks were ahead with Masopust in the 15th minute but Brazil responded immediately with Amarildo in the 17th minute. In the second half, Zito in 69' and Vava in 78' made it 3-1 and led Seleção to the second world cup in its history and in fact consecutive.

Garrincha with 4 goals, as well as Vava, was the top scorer of the tournament. From the moment he left injured Pelé became the leader of Brazil and was the best player of his team and the tournament. This jersey is an exact replica of the one used by Brazil in that World Cup. Garrincha wore the 7 unlike in 1958 when he wore the 11. The numbers were sewn and leather while they were not made by a sports company but there were no logos other than the brand. In the final against Czechoslovakia, the Brazilians all wore long sleeves.
