Croatian superstar Mario Hezonja became a Panathinaikos player in February 2021. Hezonja had repeatedly stated that he is a fan of the team until in the middle of a special season, due to the pandemic of Covid-19 and the new data in the ownership status of Panathinaikos, the Croatian wore the green.

Hezonja managed to play in 8 Euroleague games, the first of which was against his old team, Barcelona. In 8 games he had 14.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists but also 12.8 PIR. Despite his significant contribution to the team, Panathinaikos finished in 16^th place above only Khimki and Red Star.

In Greece, Panathinaikos won the Championship and the Cup, also having a great contribution, mainly in the finals against Lavrio. Hezonja in the Basket League had 10.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

This jersey was worn in the Euroleague games and in fact very few times as out of the 8 games in which Hezonja played in the Euroleague only in 4 Panathinaikos wore the green shirts. Characteristic of the player version jerseys is that there is sponsor under the name on the back as well as the label with the size of the jersey which says 2XLT instead of 2XL written by the replica.
