The 2016 Olympic Games were held in Rio and the basketball tournament was held at the Carioca Arena. 16 teams participated in two groups of 6.

In the first group the final standings brought the USA in first place with 5/5. Australia was second, France third and Serbia fourth. Venezuela and China, which finished in fifth and sixth place respectively, were left out. Serbia defeated only Venezuela and China in the group stage although they lost by one point to France (75-76) and 94-91 to the USA with Bogdanovic missing a three-pointer at the end of the match.

Στον προημιτελικό η Σερβία αντιμετώπισε την νικήτρια του Β’ ομίλου, Κροατία. Σε ένα πολύ ωραίο παιχνίδι οι Σέρβοι πήραν τη νίκη με 83-86 και προκρίθηκαν στην τετράδα. Η Αυστραλία ήταν ο αντίπαλος της Σερβίας. Η Plavi ήταν πολύ καλύτεροι και με 61-87 προκρίθηκαν εύκολα στον τελικό. Στον τελικό οι ΗΠΑ ήταν ο αντίπαλος της Σερβίας. Αντίθετα με το παιχνίδι του πρώτου γύρου η Σερβία δεν ήταν το ίδιο ανταγωνιστική με αποτέλεσμα οι ΗΠΑ να κατακτήσουν εύκολα το χρυσό μετάλλιο με 96-66 και τον Ντουράντ να πετυχαίνει 30 πόντους.

This jersey is the version worn by Serbia at the Rio 2016 Olympics. Initially, there are no sponsors while the emblem has small differences compared to the Eurobasket and World Cup jerseys. There are the Olympic Circles above the emblem while logo differs in the Olympic Games as it is not the symbol that exists on the flag with the double-headed eagle but it is a shield with a white cross. Miro Raduljica was the main center of that team. Last season he was a Panathinaikos player while in the autumn of 2016 he went to Olympia Milan. This jersey was also worn at Eurobasket 2017 with the difference that there were sponsors and the emblem was again different.
