One year before the World Cup in Germany, the Confederations Cup was held in five German cities. Hannover, Leipzig, Nuremberg, Frankfurt and Cologne were the cities that welcomed the champions of all continents.

Brazil competed as World Champions (2002) and the Copa America winners too(2004). In Group B, in addition to Brazil, were the European Champions, Greece, the Asian Cup winner, Japan, and the North American Champions, Mexico. In the first game, Brazil defeated Greece 3-0, with Adriano scoring an impressive goal. Then, Mexico made the surprise and defeated Brazil 1-0, while in the third match, Selesao drew 2-2 with Japan.

With Mexico first and Brazil second the semifinals that emerged were Germany-Brazil and Mexico-Argentina. In a spectacular semifinal, Brazil led three times and finally defeated host Germany 3-2. In the final, Argentina, who had beaten Mexico on penalties, was Brazil's opponent. In the first 16 minutes, Brazil already had two shots and two goals (Adriano and Kaka). At the beginning of the second half Ronaldinho made it 3-0 and a little later Adriano made it 4-0. Although Aimar reduced to 65', nothing changed and so Selesao won the 2^th Confederations Cup in its history.

Ronaldinho was the leader and the captain of Brazil in this tournament while he also scored 3 goals. Adriano with 5 goals became both the top scorer and the MVP of the tournament. This jersey was worn in the two years 2004-2005 by Brazil but this version is from the Confederations Cup as there is the patch of the event on the sleeve.
