Two years after winning the English Championship, Arsenal returned to the top. Having George Graham as coach and Alan Smith as striker, who was also the league's top scorer with 22 goals, Arsenal won the title in an impressive way.

The diary recorded February 2, 1991 when Arsenal suffered their first defeat of the season, and only one, when they lost 1-0 to Chelsea at Stanford Bridge. Graham's team made 24 wins and 13 draws in 36 games and with 83 points finished first ahead of Liverpool which collected 76 points. The Gunners were a very spectacular team as they scored 74 goals and conceded just 18. Only Liverpool scored more after scoring 77 goals. Arsenal set another impressive record that year after a 23-match unbeaten run.

The number 9 was worn in almost all games by Alan Smith who scored 22 times in the league and became the top scorer. Arsenal wore this very beautiful shirt with its traditional design where the sleeves were white. It is characteristic that there is a patch of the Football League First Division on the sleeves, something that slowly began to be established throughout Europe.
