The 2019-2020 season was marked by many different events. As it was known, it was the season during which Covid-19 affected everyone's lives and led to a global lockdown. At the same time, however, the NBA scene was shaken by the death of the former Lakers player, the legendary Kobe Bryant.

On March 11, shortly before the Utah Jazz game with the Oklahome City Thunder, the first case of Covid-19 in the NBA was found with "victim" Rudy Gobert. The NBA immediately announced the suspension of the tournament indefinitely. On July 31, after the lifting of the measures in the USA and the end of the lockdown, the championship continued in a "bubble". The teams were isolated in Disney, at Orlando, where the regular season ended with a strict safety protocol and the playoffs began.

But then, during the playoffs on August 26, the Milwaukee Bucks refused to play in Game 5 against the Miami Heat in protest of the murder of African-American Jacob Blake by a police officer and at the same time the murder of George Floyd who had also been killed by a police officer. NBA teams went on strike against police brutality against African Americans, which ended a few days later.

In the game, the Lakers, who had finished first in the Western Conference, managed to reach the finals after eliminating the Portland Blazers, Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets. The Lakers were better in the finals against the Miami Heat. Initially they won 116-98 in the Game 1 and doubled the victories with 124-114. The Heat won the Game 3 104-115 but the Lakers with the absolute leader again LeBron James got their third victory 102-96. In the Game 5, the Heat won 111-108 and Jimmy Butler made triple-double. The Game 6, however, was also decisive as with 106-93 the Lakers took the victory, the championship and LeBron James the MVP title.

This jersey is the version of the 2020 finals as there is the final patch on the back. Alex Caruso was the main point guard of the Lakers with a decisive contribution throughout the season. This jersey has two peculiarities. Initially, there is the KB24 logo which is dedicated to the Kobe Bryant and was worn on the team jersey from his death until the end of the season. In addition, after the resumption of the NBA in Orlando, players had the right to put a social message on their jersey. Most used the Black Lives Matter. Thus, Caruso, like several other players, had the “Black Lives Matter” message written above their number and their name was written below.
