The duo Vaso Karantasiou - Vicky Arvaniti is considered one of the top not only for Greek beach volleyball but also internationally. The two Greek women who participated in the Athens Olympic Games in 2004 with different partners, both reaching the round of 16, were together as a team in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Karantasiou and Arvaniti participated in Beijing as one of the best teams in Europe and the world, having won the European Championship in 2005 and 2007 but also having many more distinctions in the FIVB tournaments. At the 2008 Olympics they were in Group F along with Brazilians Talita and Renata, Mexicans Garcia and Candelas and Austrians Schweiger and Schweiger.

The two Greek women suffered three defeats in three games, all in detail. Initially they lost to Schweigers 2-0 (21-18, 21-18), then they also lost hard to Garcia and Candelas 1-2 (17-21, 21-16, 12-15) and finally to Talita and Renata with 2-0 (22-20, 21-19). Despite the defeats, which brought the exclusion, the two Greek women made very good appearances in all three games and left positive impressions in their presence at the Olympic Games.

This jersey was worn by Vicky Arvaniti in Beijing in 2008. Adidas as the exclusive partner of the Greek Olympic Committee was the official supplier of sports equipment of the Greek delegation and consequently "dressed" the beach volleyball athletes. Vicky Arvaniti is considered one of the best Greek women in this sport and in addition to the 11 titles in Greek Championships, the 2 European and the continuous world distinctions, she participated three times in the Olympic Games (2004, 2008, 2012).
