The 2021-2022 season started for Olympiakos with the aim of returning to the titles but also overcoming in Europe as it started from the CEV Champions League qualifiers. Coached by Gilles Coutinho at the start of the season, the red and whites were knocked out in the third qualifying round of the CEV Champions League by Zok of Serbia before being defeated by Porto in the round of 32 of the CEV Cup.

In the Greek Volley League, Olympiacos lost several points in the first half of the season. Afterwards, however, and with Carlo Parisi now as coach, made an impressive winning streak and managed to find itself in the first place of the regular season as the previously first Panathinaikos was defeated by Olympiakos 3 games before the end and then greens were defeated by PAOK in Thessaloniki.

In the playoffs, Olympiacos defeated Lamia twice in the quarterfinals and Aris twice in the semifinals. In the finals against Panathinaikos, it had home advantage. The two teams won at home in the first 4 games, however, in the fifth and decisive final, Panathinaikos won 1-3 at the home of Olympiakos and won the championship.

In the Greek Cup, Olympiacos was defeated in the round of 16 by Panathinaikos 2-3 and was eliminated early.

Mariana Costa was a great signing for Olympiacos in the summer of 2021. The former Brazil international played almost the entire season as a key outside hitter. This jersey comes from the Olympiakos locker room as it was a backup and was not worn by her. Characteristic is the CEV Champions League badge placed on the shirt as Olympiacos competed in the competition at the start of the season and the competition logo remained on the shirt for the duration of the season.
