A season of ambitions and dreams for six was 2021-2022 for Asteras Tripolis. The coach was Milan Rastavac, who a year before had led Asteras to sixth place.
Things did not go as well this time as the Arcadia team failed to make the top six and the playoffs. After the first 26 games, Asteras finished 8th and competed in the playouts. With reduced motivation now in the 14 games of the playouts, Asteras achieved just one victory, this one against Volos away from home, and ended the season in 9th place. In the Greek Cup, Asteras was left out early after losing 1-0 to Levadeiakos in the 5th Round. The 6-2 win over Atromitos was one of the highlights of the season as it was the biggest score in the Super League for that year along with PAOK's 4-4 draw with Volos.
Jeronimo Barrales was the team's main striker for one more season. He scored 6 goals and was one of the standout players for the Tripoli’s team. The team's white jersey, which accompanied the team's 90th birthday, was dedicated to children with cancer. On the chest there is a yellow ribbon that symbolizes the fight against childhood cancer, while inside the appearance is written the slogan "We support the fight against Childhood Cancer. CAN! YOU CAN! WE CAN!".
