Barcelona's big goal for the 2021-2022 season was to win the Euroleague. The team of Sarunas Jasikevicius managed to reach the Final 4 in Belgrade, but was left out of the final and was limited to third place.

The regular season was excellent for Barcelona. With 21 wins and 7 losses, Barcelona was first and crossed paths with Bayern Munich in the playoffs. The Bavarians proved to be a difficult opponent and the series was eventually decided with 3-2 victories in favor of Barcelona who had won the first and third games and needed the strength of their home team in the decisive fifth.

In the Final 4 of Belgrade, Barcelona's opponent was Real Madrid in the semi-final. After an impressive game, Real Madrid won 86-83 and advanced to the final. Barcelona played Olympiakos in the third place game and won 84-74. A few weeks later, however, Barcelona won the Spanish league.

Nikola Mirotic used this jersey in many of the games of the Euroleague season. Mirotic was the Euroleague regular season MVP and the highest rated player in the Index Rating at 20.1. The purple shirt was Barcelona's alternative but it was particularly impressive both for its distinctive color and for the striking color in the team badge.
