Aris had a very good season in 2020-2021 having used three coaches. Michael Oenning started the season on the team's bench, followed by Tolis Terzis for a short time and then Akis Manzios took over.

Aris may have been eliminated in just his first European game by Kolos Kovalivka, losing 1-2 (due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the matches in the qualifiers were single without a return leg) but in the Greek Super League things were better. The Thessaloniki team started strongly and suffered their first defeat in the 10^th game. After 26 games and with the completion of the regular season, Aris was second behind only Olympiakos.

After the playoffs of the championship and the additional 10 games, Aris finally finished third, having 3 points less than PAOK. In the Greek Cup, Aris' journey stopped in the quarter-finals as Olympiacos qualified with a 2-1 victory in Piraeus and a 1-1 draw in Thessaloniki.

The third jersey of Aris had a special color far from the team's usual ones. Aris used a light blue look with no particular design other than the team's founding year high up on the back. Manos played in 40 league, cup and Europa League games and scored 23 goals. This jersey was worn by him in a few games including the game against AEK and Olympiacos.
